Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Opinion leaders educated on safe abortion in Soubré

Soubré, June 03, 2021 (AIP) – A workshop was organized on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 , by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Action for Children and Women-Côte d’Ivoire (APEF-CI) and the Society of Gynecologists and Obstetrics of Côte d’Ivoire (SOGOCI) towards community and religious leaders, women’s and youth associations in favor of advocacy for safe abortion, in Soubré.

This workshop is part of the dissemination of the Maputo Protocol and the Clarification of Values ​​and Transformation of Attitudes (CVTA). It informs opinion leaders about advocacy for comprehensive and secure management of unwanted and high-risk pregnancies in accordance with the legislation in force and according to the Maputo protocol.

According to the head of delegation of this joint mission, also president of the NGO APEF-CI, Kouadio Yeboua, it is a question of bringing a favorable response to the problems of sexual and reproductive health through the project called “Advocacy for safe abortion in Côte d’Ivoire”, initiated since April 2014, by SOGOCI with the financial support of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO).

This mission, which will end in a week, will be marked by local awareness sessions (Focus Group) on the promotion of safe abortion and radio programs will be hosted by the NGO Coalition Namané de la Nawa, notes -your.
